Anchor Scriptures: Mathew 7:13-14 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.” “Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there few who find it.”
In the anchor scriptures for today, Jesus is presenting a parable about life and death and encourages His disciples and you to seek life by entering through the narrow gate. The narrow gate is the way to God. Jesus is saying that, for you to come to God, you must walk through a narrow gate, and this means giving up the things that burden your life.
The narrow gate is the way to heaven and is not easy to enter. The way to spiritual death is broad and open. The way to life is narrow and few find it, those who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior and endure to the end. Those who do not waver in their faith. The way to destruction is wide and many enter through it
The narrow gate is the way of transformation.
Followers of Jesus Christ must produce fruit in their lives to show that their hearts have been transformed by the Holy Spirit.
Jesus didn’t promise it would be easy, but it’s worth the effort as the prize is out of this world.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, despite the hardship that I may endure in life, help me by the power of the Holy Spirit to follow the narrow gate to secure my place in heaven. In Jesus Christ precious Name. Amen
