Scripture:
1 Corinthians 12:8-10 KJV
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; [9] To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; [10] To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
The supernatural ability to speak in a language, (tongue)unknown and Follow the way of LOVE is a manifestation and sign that one is operating in the gifts of the Spirit.
Believers must eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy. For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to man, but to God. Indeed, No one understands Him, He utters mysteries with His spirit.
In 1st Corinthians, Paul describes various spiritual gifts and ways we can demonstrate Godly living in the world. He touches on the gift of tongues, prophecy with understanding, and faith that could move mountain. Yet some how, he passes all of these things for just one thing: LOVE. In 1st Corinthians 13:13 he says, “Three things will last forever: FAITH, HOPE, and LOVE- and the greatest of these is LOVE. ” I have found myself skipping over this verse with a thought of “YES, I got that one down. ” I have heard it and read it so often that I forget the application and power of it. What is this for ? Why are these, the things that last forever? The greatest power of our lives is contained is this verse. We just have the task of unfolding the purpose behind it in order to correct to it. Faith is one of the first things we learn about as believers. Luke 17:6, says, ” if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to the tree, “May you be uprooted and thrown into the sea, ‘ and it would obey you! ” Hebrews 11:1 gives this clear definition of FAITH: ” faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.! I declare God’s supernatural favour over our lives. What we could not make happen on our own, God will make it happen for us. Supernatural opportunities, healing, restoration, and breakthroughs are coming our way. We are getting wiser, stronger,and healthier. We will discover talent that we didn’t know we had and we will accomplish our God-given dream. Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever Amen.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I come before You, recognizing Your infinite love and grace. You are the source of all goodness and the giver of every perfect gift. I beseech You today to activate within me the gifts of the Holy Spirit that I may bear witness to Your love and bring glory to Your name.
