Topic: THE DANGER OF PRIDE

Scripture: Proverbs 8:13 KJV
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Pride is a feeling of deep satisfaction and accomplishment in oneself, or in someone else’s achievements or qualities. It can also refer to a sense of dignity, self-respect, or self-esteem that arises from one’s own achievements or qualities.
One reason why you should deal with pride in your life is that pride forfeits the wisdom of God
Psalm 25:9 says “God guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.”
Humility secures DIVINE attention, DIVINE assistance and DIVINE direction.
Proverbs 26:12 says “ _Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.”_
Only the humble will walk in the wisdom of God, because only the humble will receive the wisdom that comes from God.
A proud person doesn’t think they need help from God, and so they forfeit the wisdom that could alter their destinies.
While pride can be a positive emotion, excessive or unchecked pride can lead to negative consequences. Here are some potential dangers of pride:

1. Arrogance: If pride becomes excessive, it can lead to arrogance, where a person believes they are superior to others. This can lead to a lack of empathy and respect for others, and can harm relationships.
2. Blindness to one’s own flaws: When a person is overly proud, they may become blind to their own flaws and weaknesses. This can prevent them from seeing the need for personal growth and improvement.
3. Inflexibility: Excessive pride can lead to a rigid and inflexible mindset, where a person is resistant to change or new ideas. This can limit personal and professional growth.
4. Isolation: When a person is overly proud, they may isolate themselves from others who they perceive as inferior or unworthy. This can lead to loneliness and social isolation.
5. Risk-taking behavior: In some cases, excessive pride can lead to risk-taking behavior, such as taking on more than one can handle or ignoring warning signs. This can lead to negative consequences and harm oneself or others.

It’s important to recognize the potential dangers of excessive pride and to strive for a healthy balance of self-confidence and humility.
A big problem with pride is that Pride always leads to a fall.
No proud man has a future in the kingdom of God.
The world will resist the man with the spirit of pride.
Life and the elements of the earth and heaven will fight against the man who has the spirit of proud.
Pride preceed destruction. Pride is not a virtue of the new creation realities.
You must be Brutal against the Spirit of Pride.
Charles Spurgeon said, “Every person has a choice between being humble or being humbled”

PRAYER:
Oh lord breath upon by spirit, and clothe me with the spirit of humility in Jesus Name. Amen
