DEAL WITH YOUR FLESH AND HAVE PEACE.
Scripture: 5:16-17 KJV
“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.”
The reason why people get so discouraged and despair in life is because the human nature tells them that they don’t have all they need. They see lack, failure, trouble everywhere and do not see a way out. But when you are led by the spirit you see things differently. You see supernatural provision and help coming to you. You begin to desire to do things that will please God.
But when you are controlled by the craving of your flesh, you begin to fall into the temptation of envying and fighting your friends, you begin to criticise and say nasty things to upset your friends. These are some signs that you are controlled by your flesh: you get offended easily, you pick quarrels easily, you prefer to be at parties till late than attend spiritual meetings, you begin to engage in ungodly acts such as drug dealing, leaving reckless sexual life, stealing and fraud to fund your high life. And when you don’t have those things you crave you become discontented and irritated.
Today, take out time to fast and ask the Holy Spirit to take over. It is possible to live a spirit filled loving life and be contented with what you have and who you are.
Prayer:
Oh Lord help me where my flesh is failing me in Jesus name. Holy Spirit of God empower me so that I can mind things of the Spirit in Jesus name.
