Topic: WALKING IN THE SPIRIT.
Scripture: Galatians 5:16 (NKJV) – “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”
Walking in the Spirit is both an instruction and a choice we must make daily. God gives us the Holy Spirit to guide, empower, and transform us, but we must choose to follow His lead. To “walk” in the Spirit means surrendering our own desires and allowing the Spirit to direct our steps. This choice enables us to overcome the pull of the flesh—our sinful, selfish nature.
When we choose to walk in the Spirit, we experience God’s power at work in us, producing the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, and more. The more we yield to the Holy Spirit, the more our lives reflect the character of Christ.
Imagine standing at a crossroads. One path is wide, well-travelled, and seems easy but leads to a dead end. The other path is narrower and requires effort but leads to a beautiful destination. The Holy Spirit stands beside you, urging you to take the narrow path. You have a choice. Will you trust Him and walk down the path that brings life and peace, or will you follow the way that seems easy but leads to frustration and regret? Walking in the Spirit requires trusting His guidance and choosing the path of righteousness.
In Romans 8:14 (NKJV) – “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” Those who are led by the Spirit demonstrate their identity as children of God. We must choose daily to follow His leading and live according to His ways
The choice to walk in the Spirit is yours. Every day, you have the opportunity to choose between walking in your own strength or allowing the Holy Spirit to guide you. As you make that choice, remember that walking in the Spirit leads to true freedom, joy, and victory over sin. Choose wisely and walk in the path that brings life.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the gift of Your Spirit who empowers us to live in victory. Help us to choose daily to walk in the Spirit, surrendering our will to Yours. May we experience the fullness of life and freedom that comes from following Your lead. In Jesus’ name, Amen
