Topic: FAITHFUL IN THE LITTLE THINGS.
Scripture: Luke 16:10 (KJV) – “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.”
In our walk with God, faithfulness is measured not by the size of what we are entrusted with, but by our attitude and commitment to it. Jesus teaches us in *Luke 16:10* that how we handle small responsibilities is an indication of how we will manage greater ones. It’s easy to overlook the little things in life—small tasks at work, quiet moments of prayer, or everyday interactions with others. But God sees our faithfulness in these small areas as a reflection of our character and trustworthiness.
Think about it this way: if you were given a small seed to plant, would you water it and nurture it, trusting that it could grow into something bigger? The same principle applies to the tasks and opportunities God places in our lives. Whether it’s managing your finances, being kind to a stranger, or serving in your local church, these “little things” matter to God. He is looking for people who will be diligent, trustworthy, and faithful, even when no one else is watching.
For example, imagine an employee who consistently shows up on time, completes their work with excellence, and takes initiative. Their boss notices their reliability, and eventually, they are promoted to a position of greater responsibility. In the same way, God rewards our faithfulness in the small things by entrusting us with more.
Colossians 3:23 reminds us, “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.” This means that even the tasks that seem insignificant should be done with excellence, as if we are doing them for God Himself. Faithfulness in small things leads to blessings and opportunities for greater things.
Our faithfulness in everyday responsibilities reflects our readiness for bigger opportunities that God may have in store for us.
Prayer
Lord, help me to be faithful in the small things you have entrusted to me. Teach me to honour you in every area of my life, knowing that my faithfulness today opens doors for greater blessings tomorrow. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
