Topic: Sabbath Day Values in Church/Temple
VERSE OF THE DAY: Hebrews 10:25
“Not forsaking our meeting together, as is the habit of some, but
encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day of
Christ’s return approaching.”
**Communion**
At church, we partake of the sacrament (or Communion), as Jesus
commanded.
“And when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, ‘Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.’ In the same manner, He also took the cup after supper, saying,
‘This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.’” — 1Corinthians 11:24-25
Observing this commandment weekly or monthly at church helps us remember what Jesus has done for us and commit to following Him.
**The Church of God Relies on You**
“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some
evangelists, and some pastors and teachers.” — Ephesians 4:11
In the Bible, the Apostle Paul compared the church to a body, with Jesus
as the head. For a body to function, every member is important and must
do its part.
“From Him the whole body, joined and knitted firmly together by what every joint supplies, when each part is working properly, causes the body to grow and mature, building itself up in love.” — Ephesians 4:16 AMP
Participating in church and offering your time and talents will strengthen both you and those around you. God has given us different talents to praise Him, whether as singers, preachers of His words, teachers church leaders, or pastors.
I remember when I was six years old, having been raised in the church.
The music teacher trained us to play various instruments. Today, some of my peers are gospel musicians in Nigeria, like Yinka Ayefele. Even Michael Jackson and his group discovered their talents in church although they later deviated but If they had not attended church or thought it unnecessary, we might never have known them, and their talents could have been wasted.
Support the Church: Tithes & offerings are not just a command , they are a way of systemic support for the progress and growth of the church. The church is a family and the same way you support your family financially so it can make progress, the same way you support the church so it can function properly and fulfill its mandate. Malachi 3:10 KJV says
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Prayer: Lord, I am available for you to use me for your glory in Jesus name. Amen.
