Topic: Your Words Always Find You
VERSE OF THE DAY: Ephesians 4:29.
“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.”
As Christians, we need to be careful about what we say, as our words affect our entire lives. The words you speak may always find you. Our words determine what we believe, and they shape what we will do or reap. Words are seeds; they can positively or negatively affect the lives of
those who speak them and those who hear them.
What impact do your words have on others? Do they hurt people? Our words should build up and produce life; they should be sweet as honeycomb.
You cannot claim to love someone if you speak evil about that person behind their back. Gossiping is not edifying, and spreading division among believers is an abomination to the Lord. There is great significance in what you say and how you say it. Wrong words lead to problems.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it
will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.” —
Proverbs 18:21
As Christians, we should be role models in how we communicate. Paul emphasized that our words must be uplifting.
Prayer: O Lord, guide my mouth and let the Holy Spirit control my speech
so that I may speak according to Your Word, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
