Topic: DINING WITH JESUS
Anchor Scripture: John 21:12 “Jesus said to them “come and eat breakfast” (NKJV)
From the revelation in chapter 21 of John’s Gospel, we learn that Peter and His friends had toiled all night and caught no fish. However, Jesus Christ displayed His omniscient power and asked them to cast their net on the right side which they did and caught many fishes. Jesus already had breakfast cooking for them by the seashore and asked them- Bring some of the fish which you have just caught” (Verse10). Jesus is your Jehovah Jireh and He will provide for you in time of need.
Believers are invited to draw near to Jesus. Jesus said “come and eat breakfast “means sitting together and fellowship with savior Jesus Christ. “Come and eat” indicates a vision of union with Jesus. “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8)
When you accept Jesus’ invitation to eat with Him, you feed upon Jesus. “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him” (Verse 56). It is an invitation to enjoy fellowship with all the saints of a church gathering. You are drawing nearer in Spirit with followers of Jesus and supported by Jesus Himself, the bread of Life.
Dwelling near to Jesus, union with Him, loving one another and drawing strength from Jesus, you must” come and eat” with Him by faith.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, my heart’s desire is to “come and eat” daily the fresh manna from heaven. Your word is my daily bread. In Jesus Name. Amen
