Topic: GOD HAS CALLED YOU TO SERVE OTHERS
Scripture :
Ephesians 2:10
“For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us all].”
Message
God calls us to a service far beyond anything you could ever imagine. We were put on Earth to make a contribution.
We were not created just to consume resources — to eat, breath, and take up space. God designed us to make a difference in our lives. We were created to add to life on Earth, not just take from it. God wants us to give something back.
These “good works” referred to in Today’s Scripture, are your services to the world. Whenever you serve others in any way, you are actually serving God and fulfilling one of your purposes.
What God told Jeremiah is also true for you: “Before I made you in your mother’s womb, I chose you. Before you were born, I set you apart for a special work.” When most people think of this “special work,” they think of pastors, priests, and professional clergy, but God says every member of His family is to minister. If you are a Christian, you are a minister, and when you are serving, you are ministering.
Serving one another like Christ served involves treating others with honour and respect. Romans 12 tells us to “be devoted to one another in love.” Our actions and service should be a reflection of Christ and how he loves.
Prayer :
In Jesus name,
Father God, teach me to recognize Your presence in others and be ready to help them. I pray for the desire to serve others. May I have the heart-attitude of serving and making others a top priority, in the name of Jesus.
Open my soul to become more aware of Your presence throughout the day, and help me trust that You are with me, even when I struggle to feel so. Teach me to see this day not as an obstacle in the way of experiencing intimacy with You, but rather as holy ground that You will stand with me on.
