Topic: FINISHING STRONG
Scripture:
PROVERBS 4:20-24
My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips far from you.
To end well the Word of God must be your daily food. In order to have the strength to keep running the race, you need to feed your spirit.
God’s word contains all the vitamins that will keep you spiritually fit for the race. You must feed your spirit with the Word of God. There are supernatural nutrients and vitamins in the Word that will supply all that you need to keep running the race.
The more you feed on the Word, the more strength you will possess.
It is a priority to feed on the Word daily.
Also to finish strong you have to realize that the Holy Spirit is your Water. It is impossible to run a physical race and not get thirsty. It is equally impossible to run a spiritual race and not get thirsty spiritually.
The Holy Spirit quenches our thirst spiritually.
In John 4:13-14 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again. but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”You should be drinking from the fountain of the Holy Spirit on a daily basis.
Every time you feel dry, go back to the Holy Spirit and drink, you will surely be refreshed.
You have to drink daily from the Holy Spirit so you don’t feel thirsty at all.
This is the season when you ought to pray in the Holy Spirit more than ever before…Speak in tongues and get your spirit energised for the race of life and destiny.
Also to finish strong Discipline is required.
Discipline is the practice of training people to obey rules or a code of behavior, using punishment to correct disobedience.
The word discipline is embedded in the word disciple.
No One can be a disciple if one is not disciplined.
The disciples that lacked discipline will not finish their race well. Remember Judas Iscariot!
The code of operation and behavior is the Bible.
The Bible dictates what is allowed or not allowed in the race. Not following the dictates of God’s word disqualifies one from the race.
May you not be disqualified in Jesus name!
1Corinthians 9:24 says “Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.” Run in a way that you obtain the prize by being disciplined.
PRAYER:
Dear God thank you for your Spirit that is at work in me, empowering me to run the race until I see the face of God in Jesus Name.
