TOPIC: THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD’S WORD – A FERTILIZER OF LOVE

SCRIPTURE: Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
1 Corinthians 13:1

Yesterday, we saw that Christianity equals hypocrisy if practiced without love. And we looked at closeness to God as a factor that enhances the growth of love.
Today, we shall be looking at light from Scripture as another factor that facilitates the growth of love.

Please take note of the following:

a. Light assists walk (Psalms 56:13, Psalms 89:15). Light enhances motion. Light makes us walk. Light from Scripture assists the walk of love.
b. Insight affects lifestyle. The kind of things you see in scripture affects the way you live your life (Romans 12:2). Insight from scripture affects your love life.
c. Revelation fuels action. The relevant revelation you have out of scripture is fuel for your actions in love.
d. Knowledge influences behaviour. To the extent you know, to that extent you behave (Psalm 89:15).

Sometime ago, a woman talked bitterly about someone who offended her, and she could not forgive the person. But after hearing one of the messages I preached on love, she reached out to that person. And to her surprise, the person apologised and thanked her for reaching out to her. Now, this is the point: she had succeeded in releasing herself and the other person from the grip of bitterness, thereby clearing her pathway to eternity at the frequency of the Word she heard and the corresponding action she took.

Beloved, the productivity and profitability of your spirituality is determined by your love walk. Even prayer becomes noise without love (1 Corinthians 13:1). If you know this, nobody would beg you to stop unforgiveness and bitterness.

It was when Job prayed for his friends that God turned his captivity (Job 42:10). Beloved, if you want God to turn your captivity, then avoid the lifestyle of bitterness. Embrace love!
Reconcile with anyone with whom you are keeping malice; you can send a text message or give them a call. Release them and be free. Pray for that brother or sister who offended you.

PRAYER: Lord, teach me how to love like You. Let my life be a reflection of Who You are, in Jesus’ Name.
