DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY THE WORTHLESS THINGS OF THIS WORLD
Scripture Job 15:31 – “Let him not deceive himself by trusting what is worthless, for he will get nothing in return”
All the glitters is not gold according to a popular saying. At death, we are buried with nothing. So do not chase these material things as if they will last eternity. Deuteronomy 11:16 – “Be careful or you will be enticed to turn away and worship other gods and bow down to them”.
Yes, at times we have needs and we are tempted to do anything possible and humanly to sort our needs out. We begin to trust in ourselves and our abilities. But God is a problem solver. David in the Bible was anointed by Samuel to be the next King of Israel, he was not consumed by the thought of becoming a king and start plotting to dethrone Saul. No, he continued to serve Saul, He trusted God who instructed Samuel to anoint him to bring his kingship to come to pass.
It is folly when as believers we begin to think we don’t need the church and church folks anymore because God has granted us our heart desire. Do not allow what you received freely from God, distract you. I have heard of people who used to be very committed to God and His Kingdom run away or start staying away once they received their miracle. No. I learnt of a woman who for over 15 years was very committed in her church while trusting God for a miracle baby. The moment she got pregnant she began to give excuses how she can no longer attend service because she was worried she may lose the baby. She completely stopped attending services and cut herself off from her pastor and other members. After about two years, the baby became very ill and all medical treatment failed. She remembered her Pastor! How many of us are deceived and run away once we receive answers to our prayers?
Listen, you may receive the miracle but don’t disconnect from the one and source of the miracle because you may need Him someday. Stop giving excuses with what God has given you! “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
1 John 2:16 KJV.
Prayer: Lord thank you for all you have blessed me with. I dedicate them to you. I receive grace never to use them as excuse to run away from you.
