Topic: BE IT UNTO ME ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD.

Scripture: Luke 1:38 (NKJV) – “Then Mary said, ‘Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.’ And the angel departed from her.”

Mary’s response to the angel Gabriel is a beautiful picture of surrender and trust. When she was told that she would carry the Son of God, despite the impossibility from a human perspective, her reply was simple but profound: “Be it unto me according to Your word.” In this moment, Mary chose faith over fear, trust over doubt. She didn’t have all the answers or know how everything would unfold, but she trusted God’s plan and was willing to yield her life to His purpose.

This response challenges us to ask: How do we respond when God’s plans for our lives seem overwhelming or beyond our understanding? Often, we are tempted to question, resist, or try to take control. But like Mary, we are invited to respond in faith, saying, “Lord, let it be according to Your word,” trusting that His plans for us are good—even when we can’t see the full picture. The scripture said Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV) – “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

God’s plans for us are always rooted in love and goodness. Though they may not always align with our immediate understanding, they are always for our ultimate good. Mary’s humble response to God’s word is an example for us. Are you willing to say, “Be it unto me according to Your word,” even when the road ahead seems uncertain? Today, take a step of faith and trust God’s promises for your life. Surrender your plans and allow Him to lead you according to His perfect will.

Prayer: Lord, help us to have hearts like Mary’s, full of faith and trust in Your word. When Your plans seem beyond our understanding, give us the grace to say, “Be it unto me according to Your word.” May we trust Your guidance, knowing that Your plans for us are good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
