GOODSEED DAILY DEVOTION May 20th, 2026

Topic: ABUNDANCE IN CHRIST.

Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 8:18 (KJV) – “But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.”

Reflection: As we reflect on the theme of abundance today, we are reminded of the incredible provision of our God. The testimony of a woman who prayed over her shopping budget serves as a powerful illustration of faith in action. By lifting her needs to heaven and trusting God to stretch her resources, she experienced the miraculous—always finding herself with more than enough.

This story parallels the miracle of the feeding of the 5,000, where Jesus took what seemed like a meager offering of two fish and five loaves and, through gratitude and faith, multiplied it to feed a multitude. This act demonstrates God’s ability to take our limited resources and transform them into abundant provision, not just for our needs but for the needs of others as well.

In John 10:10, Jesus declares His purpose: “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” This abundance encompasses all aspects of our lives—spiritually, emotionally, and materially. It is essential to remember that our ability to create wealth and experience abundance comes from the Lord. He establishes His covenant with us, promising to provide for our needs as we walk in obedience to Him.

Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank You for Your promise of abundance in my life. Help me to remember that all I have comes from You, and grant me the confidence to trust in Your provision. Teach me to walk in faith, knowing that You are able to stretch my resources and meet every need I have. May I experience Your abundance in every area of my life and be a blessing to others. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Contemplation: Spend a few moments in silence, reflecting on the areas of your life where you need to see God’s provision. Consider how you can express gratitude for what you have while trusting Him for more.

Action Step: This week, identify one area in your life where you feel a lack or need. Write down a specific prayer asking God to provide for that need. Trust Him to respond, and look for opportunities to witness His abundance in your life. May you experience the fullness of God’s provision and grace today!
