Topic: BE A CHEERFUL GIVER
Foundational Scripture: “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7 NKJV).
God reward those who give with a cheerful attitude and not grudgingly. The acronym of grace is “God’s riches at Christ’s expense” We have been gifted by grace. We have received enormous gifts from God, “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.” (2 Corinthian8:9 NKJV).
To be a cheerful giver, put people before yourself so that you can abound in grace. Apostle Paul says “But as you abound in everything—-in your love for us (people) –see you abound in grace also. (2 Corinthians 8:7 NKJV). Your measure of success is not in the number of people who help you but in the number of people you give or how you assisted the vision of your Church. (Ref to Galatians 5:13)
A cheerful giver must walk with wisdom. Support causes with good goals, follow a plan, not just on impulse, choose amount and priorities. Enjoy giving what you can, don’t feel bad about what you can’t give. “For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have” (“2 Corinthians 8:12 NKJV).
A cheerful giver will abound in grace. “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8 NKJV).
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I endeavor to give with a cheerful heart and not grudgingly and all grace will abound toward me in Jesus Name. Amen
