Topic: BY HIS STRIPES YOU ARE HEALED
Anchor Scripture: “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5 NKJV)
Our peace is secured by our savior Jesus Christ undergoing punishment for us. With an attitude of gratitude appreciate what Jesus did for you on the cross of calvary. In fact,Jesus became a “propitiatory offering” for our sin so that we can have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
He was wounded is literally “pierced through”. And by His stripes we are healed. Prophet Isaiah saw through the centuries to know that the Messiah would be beaten with many stripes. “So, Pilate delivered Jesus after he had scourged (whipped) Him, to be crucified” (Mark 15:15 NKJV). Prophet Isaiah proclaimed that the provision for healing is in the suffering of Jesus, so “By His stripes we are healed.”
“He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses” (Mathew 8: 17 NKJV). “Who Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.” (1 Peter 2:24 NKJV)
While reading this devotional and you are going through affliction, believe in the healing power of Jesus to touch you. By His stripes, you are healed.
