Topic: FAITH
Scripture Reading:“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”— 2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)
Reflection: Faith is a fundamental characteristic of being a Christian. It is a divine gift from God that serves as our strength, anchoring our salvation and guiding our daily lives. Faith encompasses loyalty, trust, belief, strong conviction, confidence, hope, and assurance.
It is the unseen hope in the promises that the Lord has made to us. Hebrews 11:1-2 beautifully defines faith: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.” This passage emphasizes that faith is not merely a wish; it is a firm foundation built on the assurance of God’s promises.
Our faith justifies our Christianity, and it is by this faith that we live and move, drawing strength from the knowledge that we are not alone. Jesus said to Thomas, “Blessed are those who believe without seeing” (John 20:29). As believers who have not seen Christ in the flesh, we are called to trust in Him and His promises wholeheartedly. This faith gives us confidence and the ability to persevere through life’s challenges, knowing that the Lord is on our side. In moments of doubt or uncertainty, remember that faith is the lens through which we view our circumstances. It encourages us to look beyond what is visible and to trust in the unseen workings of God in our lives.
Prayer: O Lord, help me to hold on to the things which are unseen. Grant me the grace to trust in Your promises and to remain steadfast in my faith. May I find strength in believing, even when I cannot see, and may my faith be a testament to Your goodness and faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Contemplation: • Reflect on a time when your faith was tested. How did you respond, and what did you learn from that experience? • What promises from God do you need to hold onto more tightly in your life?
Action Step: Today, take a moment to write down specific promises from Scripture that resonate with you. Keep this list somewhere visible as a reminder of God’s faithfulness. Whenever doubt arises, revisit these promises and allow your faith to be strengthened. Additionally, consider sharing your faith journey with someone who may need encouragement in their own walk with God.
