GOODSEED DAILY DEVOTION May 19th, 2026

Topic: WISDOM FROM ABOVE

Scripture Reading: Proverbs 2:6 (KJV) – “For the LORD giveth wisdom: Out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.”
Reflection: Today, we are reminded of the profound truth that wisdom, knowledge, and understanding are gifts from God. The story of Joseph when he was wrongfully imprisoned illustrates how wisdom can guide our decisions and interactions with others, even in challenging circumstances.
In our daily lives, we often face situations that require more than just knowledge; they require wisdom. The ability to discern when to act, when to speak, and when to hold back is a hallmark of a wise person. Joseph demonstrated wisdom not only in his decision to maintain his integrity while in the prison but also in going ahead to assist the other prisoners by interpreting thier dreams.
His actions were thoughtful and considerate, reflecting a deep understanding of the dynamics at play eventually leading to his own freedom. Wisdom is not merely an intellectual pursuit; it is deeply relational and behavioral. It involves understanding the nuances of life and acting in a way that honors God and others.
As Christians, we are called to seek wisdom from the Lord, who generously gives it to those who ask (James 1:5).
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. I acknowledge that these traits come from You, and I desire to cultivate them in my life. Help me to seek You in every decision I make, that I may act wisely and with discernment. Grant me the ability to navigate my relationships with grace and understanding, just as Joseph did. May I reflect Your wisdom in my actions and words today. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Contemplation: Take a moment to reflect on a situation in your life where you need wisdom. Ask God to guide you and provide you with the understanding necessary to navigate it wisely. Consider how you can apply the principles of wisdom in your daily interactions and decisions.
Action Step: Identify one decision you are facing this week. Spend time in prayer, asking for God’s wisdom. Write down what you feel God is leading you to do and take action, trusting in His guidance. May you walk in the wisdom of the Lord today and always!
