GOODSEED DAILY DEVOTION May 21st, 2026

Topic: CHARACTER IN THE CHURCH.

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 10:25 (KJV) – “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

Reflection: The importance of community in the life of a Christian cannot be overstated. In Hebrews 10:25, we are encouraged not to neglect gathering together as believers. This assembly is vital for our spiritual growth, mutual encouragement, and accountability. Our local church serves as a place where we can build relationships, support one another, and grow in faith.

A significant aspect of this community is the character we display. Good character is built on trustworthiness, integrity, and a commitment to living out our faith. When we embody these qualities, we not only strengthen our relationships within the church but also serve as a testament to the love of Christ. Our good character can be a powerful witness to those around us, drawing them closer to God.

As we reflect on our own character, it’s essential to recognize that developing godly character is a continuous process. It requires intentionality and the willingness to allow the Holy Spirit to work within us. Our pastors and church leaders play a crucial role in guiding us, but ultimately, it is our responsibility to practice and embody the character of Christ in our daily lives. We are all called to welcome those who may be struggling with corrupt character. The church should be a safe haven for those seeking repentance and renewal. As we gather, let us encourage one another to reflect the character of Christ, fostering an environment of love, grace, and accountability.

Prayer: Gracious Father, I thank You for the gift of community within the church. Help us to be diligent in gathering together and encouraging one another in our faith. Guide us to examine our own character and to seek Your help in removing any deceitful behaviors from our midst. May we reflect the love of Christ in our interactions and create an environment where all can find healing and renewal. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Contemplation: Take a moment to reflect on your own character. Are there areas where you need to grow or change? Consider how you can better reflect Christ in your relationships within the church community.

Action Step: This week, reach out to someone in your church community. Offer words of encouragement, share a prayer request, or simply check in on them. Be intentional about fostering relationships that reflect Christ’s love and character. May you be strengthened in character and community as you walk in faith today! Amen
