Topic: OVERCOMING TEMPTATION.
Foundational Scripture: “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man” (1 Corinthians 10:13 NKJV)
In the bible, Satan is called “the tempter” and “the accuser”. Satan entices you and tempt you and when you fail, he begins to accuse you. We have a high Priest, Jesus Christ Himself who can feel sympathy for our weaknesses, because he was tempted in every way, just as we get tempted, yet Jesus did not sin. “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need(Hebrew 4:14-16 NKJV).
When you fail, you can go to Jesus with confidence, knowing, He will not only forgive you but providing grace to help you overcome temptation. Every believer faces temptation, but you can overcome temptation. The first thing to do is to confess the right thing. The bible says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit”. Your confessions give life to what you confess.
Begin to speak God’s words over your life Jesus said” I give you authority—over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19NKJV). Begin to claim that promise, for what God promises, He will give you the strength to overcome temptation.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, with your promise, I will overcome every devise of Satan to tempt me, In Jesus powerful Name. Amen
