Topic: LAYING HANDS
Foundational Scriptures: “And these signs will follow those who believe: In my name they will cast out demons; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:17-18 NKJV)
Brethren, you must understand the scripture and ask for deeper revelation from the Holy Spirit. Many, many years ago history, says some people in America did not understand the scripture. In 1910 a Pastor said he was commanded by God “take up serpents”. History tells us he died of “snake bites” InScripture, “serpents “are symbolic of “demons”
One example, it happened that the father of Publius lay sick of fever and dysentery. Apostle Paul went in to him and prayed, and he laid his hands on him, and he healed him (Acts 28:8NKJV).
Laying hands on the sick by those called to ministry was regular practice in the New Testament church and it is still practice in our time.
This commission is not only given to ordained ministers. Jesus said, “these signs will follow those who believe”. This is for believers and those who are baptized in the Holy Spirit.
You must be empowered and anointed by God and led by the power of the Holy Spirit before you lay hands on the sick. Apostle Paul told his Spiritual son Timothy, “Do not lay hands on anyone hastily, nor share in other people’s sins; keep yourself pure. “(1 Timothy 5:22)
Brethren do not lay hands on anyone hastily; you must be empowered and ensure the anointing of Holy Spirit is overflowing in you.
Prayer: Heavenly Father anoint me with power and Holy Spirit for me to lay hands on the sick and they will recover in Jesus Powerful name . Amen
