Topic: JESUS IN THE STORM WITH YOU
Anchor Scripture: “He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side” (Mark 4:35 NKJV)
Once you are a born again, spirit filled follower of Jesus Christ, start to grow in faith and to know Jesus intimately, you begin to go through storms, which I call spiritual attack. Jesus ‘disciples noticed this when Jesus said to them” Let us cross over to the other side”. Then we learn: “And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so it was already filling” (V37 NKJV).
In the midst of the storm, Jesus is always there. He promises “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). Jesus calmed the storm, and His disciples said in amazement “who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him” (V41 NKJV). (see Mark 4:35-41 for better understanding of the story).
At times when storms come, you begin to think, may be it’s due to something you have done wrong. Jesus disciples were in the storm due to obedience and not disobedience. Even if you love Jesus with all your heart, you will still face storms. Even if you obey and put into practice the first commandment “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind” (Mathew 22:37 NKJV).
You face life’s storms with either fear or faith. With fear, you pay attention to the storm. With faith, you pay attention on Jesus Christ, your savior. God has not promised to calm every storm, but He has promised that He will never leave us and never forsake those who trust in Him.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I acknowledge I might be going through storms in my kife right now, but I have trust in You that You will never leave me nor forsake me no matter the storms. In Jesus Name. Amen
