Topic: WINNING THE BATTLES OF LIFE
Bible Text: Psalm 13
How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart?
David did this prayer when he was running away, he might have been in depression as well. He was feeling left out.
This is a feeling most of us feel sometimes, it’s a feeling you have
When we go in a new environment. When you are isolated from human touch, when it’s like you are working and praying but not seeing the results. Here David was feeling isolated from God and from humanity.
How long is the critical question he was asking God in his darkness situation. It was an amazing chat between David and God as well.
Most Christians have done that in our lives.
David felt he was forgotten by the Lord and he was not afraid to tell God this. We all can relate to this But remember God cannot forget his children. David also felt God was hiding from him how many of us feels like that so often in our lives. We try to hide our struggles and pain from others instead of asking for a helping hand. That’s why I like what David did in this psalm he was an open vessel with God.
He tried to be normal not a superman he accepted all his mistakes he knew he made mistakes and accepted them. He opened up to God about how he was feeling in isolation and loneliness and at the end – God came through for him.
We have to learn to be like David in our lives and we will be set free and not struggle alone in our hard times. We must accept our mistakes and be open vessels for God’s power to manifest through us. You can be rest assured that when you open up to God like David did- He will surely come through for you as he did for David. Amen
Prayer : Father help us as we look up to you for we are not fighting against flesh and blood but against the evil rulers and the darkness in the world. Give us victory in the midst of the battles we face in Jesus Name. Amen.
